Business Travel Show Asia Pacific shortlisted for prestigious AEO Excellence Award

Business Travel Show Asia Pacific has been shortlisted for the prestigious AEO Excellence Awards 2026 in the category of Best International Show – Asia Pacific, recognising the show’s successful launch and growing impact on the corporate travel industry across the region.

Organised by Northstar Travel Group and The BTN Group, and powered by the legacy of the award-winning Business Travel Show Europe, the inaugural Singapore edition brought together senior corporate travel buyers, suppliers and industry leaders for two days of education, networking and innovation at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore.

The AEO Excellence Awards celebrate outstanding achievements within the events industry, recognising organisers that demonstrate innovation, audience engagement and measurable value for exhibitors and attendees alike.

A standout debut for APAC corporate travel

Launching a new event into one of the world’s fastest-growing business travel markets was an ambitious step — and one that quickly resonated with the industry.

The inaugural edition of Business Travel Show Asia Pacific delivered strong engagement across both buyers and exhibitors, including:

  • 55 exhibitors participating in the inaugural event
  • 150 buyers attending the show
  • Hosted Buyer NPS score of 65
  • 98% of buyers saying attending the show was important to their business
  • 79% of exhibitors saying the event was important to their business

The hosted buyer programme played a major role in the event’s success, providing senior decision-makers from across APAC with curated appointments, exclusive networking opportunities, tailored conference content and complimentary travel and accommodation.

The show also introduced several firsts for the region, including the APAC Travel Buyer of the Year Award and the Business Travel Show Asia Pacific Innovation Faceoff, helping position Business Travel Show Asia Pacific as a platform focused on recognising innovation, leadership and the future of corporate travel.

Buyer quality was another standout factor. All hosted buyers were vetted against strict criteria, including responsibility for travel procurement, policy and significant travel spend within their organisations. As a result, 85.7% of exhibitors rated buyer quality as excellent or good.

Content, community and industry impact

Business Travel Show Asia Pacific’s launch campaign combined strategic PR, social media storytelling, speaker announcements, exhibitor highlights and on-site content creation to establish the show as a must-attend event from day one.

The campaign generated 95 pieces of media coverage and achieved a 131% increase in LinkedIn engagement during the event month.

Attendees also benefited from:

  • Buyer-only conference sessions
  • BTN Academy workshops
  • Exclusive networking experiences
  • 1,564 scheduled meetings through the appointment tool

The shortlist recognises not only the success of the event itself, but also the growing importance of the corporate travel sector across Asia Pacific and the appetite for a dedicated regional platform that combines education, networking and business opportunities.

Business Travel Show portfolio recognised globally

The Business Travel Show portfolio was recognised across three separate categories at this year’s AEO Excellence Awards, highlighting the continued international growth and influence of the brand.

The shortlistings include:

  • Business Travel Show Europe – Best Trade Show over 8,000sqm
  • Business Travel Show America – Best International Show – Americas
  • Business Travel Show Asia Pacific – Best International Show – Asia Pacific

Together, the shortlistings reflect the strength of the Business Travel Show brand globally and its continued role in connecting the corporate travel community through education, networking and business-focused events.

Jonathan Carter-Chapman, Event Director, said:

“Being shortlisted for an AEO Excellence Award in our very first year is an incredible achievement for the Business Travel Show Asia Pacific team. To also see the wider Business Travel Show portfolio recognised across Europe and the Americas demonstrates the strength of the brand globally and the value these events continue to deliver to the corporate travel community.”

The winners of the AEO Excellence Awards 2026 will be announced later this year.

Business Travel Show Asia Pacific returns to Marina Bay Sands, Singapore, on 14-15 April 2026.
